Christchurch

Christchurch Airport is about a $40 NZ taxi ride from the town centre.

Quick tour of the town (in the dark). Larger than I expected…. but couldn’t see much of it… as it was too dark.

Queenstown Airport

Well, that is the end of my ski trip to the South Island of New Zealand, time to head north.

First stop is Christchurch (to catch up with an old friend), which means a flight from Queenstown to Christchurch.

Skiing New Zealand: Treble Cone and Parrots

This is seriously cool - at Treble Cone I saw a lot of parrots… yes parrots. New Zealand has the worlds only mountain parrot, called a Kea (Nestor notabilis), and there are stacks of them around Treble Cone. The birds are confined to the mountain areas on New Zealand’s south island.
